WHAT IS SPINNING?

Spinning is a recent phenomenon that has undertaken the fitness world by storm. Classes take place under the guidance of Johnny G certified Spinning instructor, with various lightning and music settings to create an energized atmosphere.

Instructors guide participants through their “journey” encountering varying types of terrain and degrees of resistance. Participants control their own intensity with constant adjustment being normal. Intensity can be influenced by the cadence, or pedal rate, resistance of the bikes flywheel and /or by the rider’s body position.

CIRCUITS

Circuit training is a form of body conditioning or using high-intensity. It targets strength building and muscular endurance. An exercise "circuit" is one completion of all prescribed exercises in the program. When one circuit is complete, one begins the first exercise again for the next circuit. Traditionally, the time between exercises in circuit training is short, often with rapid movement to the next exercise.

What is Suspension Training?

Suspension Training is a type of training that uses body weight and gravity as the primary loading device and allows users to move within a variety of ranges of motion. Suspension training has significant balance and coordination requirement, forcing the body to operate as a functional unit. Due to the lack of stability within the suspension device, the body is force to engage to core at all times in order to maintain proper body alignment throughout the movement. Movements can be regressed/progressed and levels of resistance altered by adjusting the range, angle of pull and the level of gravitational pull.

We run Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes. All Yoga classes concentrate on the use of the breath to move and to work into the postures. We have Beginners, Continuation and Improvers classes. We are inspired by the teachers and students whom we've come in contact with through the world of Yoga, pilates, wellness and fitness, and we bring those positive teachings to our classes every week.

Activity Specific Functional Movement

That's where yoga comes in. Yoga really is a fantastic mind, body, soul exercise, combining everything from meditation, breath awareness, dynamic and static postures, to mindfulness about the task at hand. And now that the cooler weather is upon us, it is even more important to make that mind-body connection before climbing the crag, doing an eskimo roll or hanging ten.
